Deaf and Dumb Sign Language Classes
I was going to classes when I was in Bristol to learn the Deaf and Dumb Sign Language? Well, I enjoyed them very much and was beginning to make a little progress when the Instructor had a nervous breakdown! I really don’t THINK it was my fault! Anyway, by the time the classes started up again I was on my way back to London and so didn’t bother with them anymore. However, recently I made enquiries this end and found the classes were starting in London this month, but when I applied they were all fully booked. They must be just as popular here as in Bristol. Anyway, the have taken my name and all details and will let me know when the next batch of lessons start. I am quite looking forward to it.
Alan Melville on Radio
Last week Iva rang me at the office to ask if I knew that Alan Melville was plastered all over the Radio Times. I said I didn’t even know the poor fellow had a drink problem and rushed out to buy a Radio Times to see for myself. I would have liked to have listened to the programme advertised as I have always been a very big fan of Alan Melville (in fact my eldest is named after him) but unfortunately it was an afternoon programme and, although I do have m radio in the office and do listen to music on my earphone from time to time, Friday afternoon is rather difficult as we are trying t get cleared up before the weekend. Still, maybe there will another time… I hope!!
Cat Cigarette Lighter
I picked up a Cat Cigarette Lighter at Whitecross Street Market a few weeks back for £4. A real bargain. It is about 4 ½ to 5 inches high and sits on my desk in the office through the week next to my Cocoanut Chimp and my real (dead) baby alligator from Guyana. I don’t really approve of killing live animals (how the devil could you kill a dead one?) but when I won this one in a raffle at St. Martins in the Fields Charity Fete during the summer – it had such a cheeky expression and was sat up on its tail and giving a salute with its front right hand leg – I felt quite so attracted to his full length, live, Mum or Dad!
